Useful External Links

Listed on the page below, you will find a number of external web links that connect you to various organization sites (I am, naturally, affiliated with a few of them). Some of these are directly connected with language learning and some are general informational pages connected to the land, language, and literature of the Bible

  • The Center for Holy Lands Studies (CHLS) runs an impressive number of tours to the lands of the Bible. From this site, you can book tours to Israel, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Egypt. Although there are various companies that offer similar services, CHLS distinguishes itself by having professional experts on their tours in addition to local guides.

  • Alliance University (formerly Nyack College) is the Christian college that has employed me full-time for the last 13-plus years. It is an extremely diverse college based in Manhattan, New York. The Bible department maintains a strong connection with the lands of the Bible.

  • Every Voice is an organization (to which I belong, as a fellow) that seeks to promote diversity in the field of Christian biblical and theological education. One excellent resource they provide is a database of academic works written by minority scholars.

  • The Orion Center for the Study of the Dead Sea Scrolls is a website run by my alma mater, the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The Center is an excellent resource for discovering more about the Dead Sea Scrolls. Among the best resources found at the site are the up-to-date bibliography of books and articles on the scrolls (and Second Temple literature), and the virtual tour of Qumran

Bible Study Sites

Below are links to a number of Bible study sites that I have found useful in my search for biblical knowledge. They do vary in complexity, some are for beginners, and others are for those more competent in biblical languages, hermeneutics, and exegesis.

  • The Bible Arc program is a tool that aids the exegetical process. It can be used by beginners or more advanced Bible students
